CME Consultancy is a provider of food safety consultancy and training.


Established in 2001, CME works with a range of clients including small and medium sized enterprises, corporate clients and those in the public sector. Our ambition is to be regarded as one of the UK’s leading providers in food hygiene training and catering consultancy services.


The company draws on the experience of a network of consultants, all under the guidance of Mick Markham who is the original founder of the business.

Mick Markham, Director

Qualified in the UK, Mick is a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health approved trainer. Mick also holds a Professional Diploma in Food Premises inspection, along with many other qualifications including Food Hygiene Certificates, Advanced Food Hygiene and Catering Management Certificate.


Prior to establishing CME in 2001, Mick served in the armed forces for the Catering Corps and was on the Committee of Corporals Mess. Mick was also Executive Chef for Redcliffe Catering at Cadburys and held senior Chef Appointments with Sutcliffe Catering and RCO Support Services. Mick has worked freelance at prestigious venues and events including Wembley Stadium, The Emirates Stadium and The Open, The Scottish Open and the Silverstone Formula One Grand Prix.


Mick has recently enjoyed success at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, where as Food Safety Officer he ensured all his client's catering establishments were fully compliant with LOCOG's stringent procedures, including food hygiene and working practices.
